Natural Olivewood
Our unique Kitchen & Dining range of Kisii-stone & Olivewood is designed and handcrafted especially for us by our Partners in Kisii, Kenya

Kisii-stone
With our Kisii-stone sizzlers, griddles & pizza-stones, stone cooking is a healthy and natural low-fat method of cooking your favourite food. Food cooked on your stone grill tastes fresh because it is cooked with no fat or oil and so is healthier for you than other conventional methods of cooking

The heat of the stone sears the outside of the food locking in the taste and flavour. Meat, fish, seafood, vegetables, eggs, fruit or bread, in fact almost anything is suitable for cooking on stone
Soapstone's most interesting qualities are cooking without altering food flavour so you get the true flavour of each food. Because it is stone, the cookware heats up evenly. After the food is cooked, soapstone cookware can go straight to the serving table because of it's beauty and most importantly it keeps food warm for a long time
All items can go in the oven and directly on top of an electric stove, and any type of food can be cooked since it does not react with acidic foods. Soapstone is a very non porous stone
The thermal qualities of soapstone work both ways, hot or cold, which makes soapstone also great to keep what needs to stay cool, cool. Soapstone wine coolers and beer mugs are very efficient for keeping the liquids cold & cheese & sushi stones maintain a delicious chill for longer
Olivewood
Olivewood has a diverse variety of beautiful natural colours and tonal depths. It is also resistant to decay & with care will provide a lifetime of enjoyment
To keep clean simply wipe with a damp cloth. Do not place Olivewood items in the dishwasher or submerge in water for extended periods. Should the surface become dry, a little olive oil will bring out the grain of the wood.

How to Cure New Soapstone Cookware
This is a natural product made from selected soapstone. It should be prepared for use by following the procedure below. This curing procedure is only necessary before first use in order to ensure a long and trouble free life.
1. Pour 1-2 tablespoons of sunflower oil onto the stone. Using a paper towel rub the oil over the entire surface. Remove excess oil.
2. Place the stone in a cold oven & heat to180 deg C / 350 deg F. Leave for one hour.
3. Turn off the oven & allow to cool. The natural colours of the stone will now appear.
4. Repeat the process & when cooled, wipe with a paper towel.
Important notes:
When using soapstone kitchenware products avoid sudden changes in temperature and avoid direct flame heating of stone (such as from a gas flame). Avoid direct contact with flat Cook-top surfaces. A steel or wooden trivet can be used to elevate cookware from these surfaces.
· The manufacturer and his agents shall not be responsible for breakage or failure of the products resulting from failure to cure or miss-use of the products.
How to Clean Soapstone
1.Allow the soapstone to cool to room temperature
2. Rinsing with a sponge & hot water is generally sufficient
3. Detergent is usually only required when frying or sauteing some foods. Reapply a little oil after using detergent & after you cook a liquid
4. Avoid using abrasive products
Please note:
Soapstone is beautiful & natural and will last a lifetime or more if cared for.
Pots, griddles etc are heavier than "standard" cooking items
Soapstone cookware should not be used in the microwave. It can be washed with a dishwasher with care
